Cross my heart
Discovered in the Muscle Shoals Sounds vaults, this is one of a handful of songwriters demo 45ís made in the early 70's to promote the song which was picked up & released on 45 by Tamiko Jones on Metromedia. This is the original version co-written and performed by George Soule and although a demo it does sound remarkably well finished and is a superb song with a great finger-snapping feel to it. A Soul Sam exclusive spin from a couple of years ago.

b/w If you really love him

In the early 80's I always thought this, along with Prince Philip Mitchells 'I'm so happy' would go on to be massive on the Northern Soul scene! 'I'm so happy' made it but this didn't? Maybe it's time could finally be here, or is it just too darn cheap? Great sing-along soulful dancer from 1979 for the price of a few pints of Stella!

Not listed anywhere and has been recently legally issued by the songs producer Elijah Cole? It is the same version as the one often seen on 'White' Rock-Way but it's mixed in a more laid back way! Not as in-yer-face as the classic Modern Soul original but shows a different side to the song!
